Fn + F3 turns off screen the first time, but not after that

#1 Post by famman » Fri Aug 22, 2014 8:31 pm

On my T420s, I have power manager set such that Fn + F3 turns off the screen. It stopped working some time ago and I really miss that feature. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling power manager and it will work the first time I try it, but not after that. When I press Fn + F3 I can see the little "working" circle by the mouse arrow momentarily, so it is registering the action, but the screen doesn't shut off. Anybody know how I can fix this?

Try accessing Power Manager and...

- switch to Advanced mode
- click on the Options tab
- click on Power off display under "When I press Fn + F3" section

This works on my T410 with the Power Manager V3.30.

It is set that way. When I change it to "show me the choose power plan menu" it will work normally for that option. But if I switch it back to "shut off screen" it won't work. It only works if I reinstall Power Manager, but then it will only work once. Any other ideas, anyone?
