T400 and additional SSD as cache

#1 Post by pushpull » Fri Oct 24, 2014 1:29 am

Hello. I looked on the Internet, but didn't find anything about this.
Is it possible to put an additional SSD in the SATA bay adapter and then configure it as a expresscache or something like that? Would expresscache run on T400? If not, is there any other software to use for disk caching?
I know, there is no option for mSATA for this model.

Yes. You can use a Serial Ultrabay HDD caddy/tray for that purpose.
and then configure it as a expresscache or something like that?
Not sure about expresscache, but Readyboost will most likely work.

But readyboost is not available in Windows 8 (which i have on my T400) and moreover it won't use 16 or 32GB disk efficiently (as far as i know how readyboost works).
