T410s display problem

T410s with white vertical band about 1 1/4 inch wide, and about 1/3 of the way in from left side that goes away with pressure at the bottom of the display, but comes back with fuzzy off color for the same space as the white band. Is this a cable problem or the display panel?
Obviously out of warranty.
Any guidance appreciated.

My vote is for a panel defect, not the cable, especially if pressure on the panel itself changes/affects the display.
[edit]: Corrected "pane" typo.

As usual for this forum, quick response and on target.
Next question - will the display from an ordinary T410, not the s version, fit in the T410s?

No, it won't fit.
In T410s the "s" stands for "slim".
Its LCD is different from the one in a standard T410.
But perhaps a complete T410 lid might fit? (similar to X200/X201 and X200s/X201s)
Anybody...???

Looking at the two lids, there is a difference; the s is slimmer, but seems to be shaped the same.

The T410s has a LED-module integrated at the bottom of the LCD itself.
The T410 has such a module (CCFL or LED) separate from the LCD. NOT compatible.
The lids may look alike (length x width) but that's about it.

Then a new display is required. Any suggestions?

Good ole MIGR-76367.
As far as suggestions on a new screen, I would say ebay. The part number to search for is in the HMM.
The prices on these screens have fluctuated greatly over the last 3 years. At one point in time a while back, the lowest you could find a T410s screen for was $180. My T410s sat broken for a while until they finally came back down to under $100.
I would say it is one of the easiest screens to replace.
