It appears from several sources as Lenovo isn't supporting Power Manager for Win 8 and 8.1.

I installed Power Manager on a T60 with Win8 in compatibility modus, and it works fine here, but make sure to create a restore point first if you try this. Due to the incompatibility of the associated files/applications, you can't remove the application once it is installed. So if it creates a problem, you're kind of stuck.

Note that Power Manager can't be installed at all in Win10. I tried to install it on a T420 with Win10 Technical Preview, but it didn't install no matter which compatibility modes I tried. Workarounds might exist, but I am not aware of any. Kind of disappointing, as particularly the battery information menus and settings are useful.

I just installed it on my T410 running Windows 8.1 Pro in comparability mode for Windows 7. I took your advice and created a restore point before installing. So I'm just posting to confirm that yes, this does work for Windows 8/8.1. :)
