(solved) ThinkPad T400 Boot Loop

So I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T400. I was just minding my own business checking my email when my laptop suddenly shut down. I turned it back on and it shows the ThinkPad logo and then shows the white line in the top left and blanks out like it wants to start and it shows the ThinkPad logo again and again. It won't even say Starting Windows like it usually does. I am running Windows 7 Professional with 6GB of RAM and a 120GB SSD. The USB ports are not broken and I tried to reset BIOS to no avail. Any help is appreciated thank you!

Can you get into BIOS? Could be your SSD have packed it in. I'd download a live Linux distro, install on USB or DVD and see how it runs.

Hi Cigarguy, thanks for the quick reply. I was able to boot into BIOS. I didn't even think to reinstall OS because I didn't have a copy of Windows to install on there and I'm kind of tight on money right now so I figured I'd try Ubuntu because I've heard lots of good things about it (and it's free!). Installed it and it boots right up now! And she runs a million times better than Windows 7 would ever run on there! So yeah I'm going to keep Ubuntu on there. Thank you sir!
