T400 ethernet allows direct connection?

#1 Post by Edward Mendelson » Wed Jan 21, 2015 3:08 pm

I'm about to help a friend migrate data from a T400 (running 32-bit Windows 7) to a T440 (running 64-bit Windows 7).

I know how to create a direct network using an ordinary Ethernet cable between two modern machines (I've done this two X201 machines) but I'm not one-hundred-percent certain that the Ethernet hardware in the T400 can handle this (and won't require a crossover cable of the kind we used in the old days).

Could anyone confirm that the T400 can handle this situation? Many thanks for any help.
