Replacing a cracked LCD with an LCD with a larger resolution

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later... I finally managed to crack one of my T410's screens. Fortunately I'm pretty handy with a screwdriver, and the repair/maintenance documentation on the T410 is extensive, so I don't foresee any trouble replacing the LCD myself. I was wondering though, since I have to go out and buy a new LCD anyway, would it be possible to upgrade to a screen with a higher resolution? Mine came with the 1280x800 screen, and I know there is a 1440x900 configuration available, and even that small gain in extra screen real estate would be extremely helpful. I have the Core i5 520M with Intel graphics model, if that matters.

Checking the service parts, it seems that the WXGA and WXGA+ parts reference list the same LCD and LED cable FRUs
I think you should be good! But I haven't done the swap.

The cable will stay the same.
One thing, though: it is my understanding that T410 and T410s use different panels so make sure that you get the one for the "s" model, obviously a genuine Lenovo-issued part with a FRU # and not a generic replacement.
Good luck.

Careful!
OP posted T410's, meaning "of a T410", NOT of a T410s!
To make absolutely sure, please post your 7-character TYPE from the label on the bottom. Looks like e.g.: 2522-23U
