Alternate BIOS for WiFi and HDD?

I recently acquired a couple of T400s. On the one I am going to make my daily driver I would like to upgrade to an Intel AC 7260 and a large WD HDD. I know I would need a modded BIOS for the WiFi, how about the HDD?

In the past I have flashed other ThinkPads to Zender or Middleton BIOS with ease. I have found some files for the T400 through some indirect links through this forum, but no bootable ISO files. The instructions accompanying the files are not very clear, perhaps written by someone for whom English is not a first language:

<<Flash from Windows with Included Flash Utility. Flash original bios at first ! Make a bootable flash. Copy the contents of the msrker's archive.>>

Is there a bootable ISO out there that someone can point me to? Or can someone translate those instructions to a language my simple mind can wrap around?

TIA!

You don't need to modify the BIOS for a bigger HDD. It already supports 48-bit LBA.

You will need to at least no-1802 the BIOS for another WLAN card.

So are the "no-1802" utilities model-specific like the BIOS flash files? I have a "no-1802" floppy image dated 2006. I assume this is NOT something I can use on the T400?

Can someone point me to a link where I can find the right stuff?

OK...a couple of things here:

a) "No-1802" works only on T42 and older units. Everything newer requires a full modded BIOS

b) Look at forums at mydigitallife...it won't be a bootable ISO, but a 2-step process that has to be executed from within Windows AFAIK.

Good luck.
