UPS for battery-less T410

I'm giving my old T410 to a friend, but it doesn't have a battery, and as I previously discussed here, it won't take one either (shorts out? needs motherboard swap?) I've been using it as a desktop plugged into a regular-sized UPS. Does anyone know of a small form UPS -- or some other UPS kludge -- that would allow friend to use it as a portable laptop and not be carrying a paver-brick-sized UPS around? We'd need only a minute of life for a quick shutdown.
