T520 FHD Touch Screen?

I own a T520 with the rather dim 1600x900 panel (stock) and considering upgrade options in the future but was doing some research and found that for the W520 one can use the Touch FHD screen from the W510 without issues provided one had the proper assembly. However someone here had made the comment that screen could not be used in the normal T520 and am wondering why. I can understand that the IGP not supporting the screen so I am asking can the models with the Nvida can support such a screen at least for novelty.

Yep, I think it is as you said.
There was the problem with the touch screen that you cannot use on regular T520, but it is a different story.

I don't have an answer to your question, but would guess that you'd need a motherboard that supports a touch panel, which IMO would have nothing to do with the type of GPU used.

Just an uneducated guess on my end.

Why not just dump a "regular" FHD panel and call it a day? We all know that one works...
