T410 Strange Video/Webpage Behavior **pics**

T410 Win7 Pro SP1 x64 IE11 FireFox 39.0 internal Intel HD graphics (link to complete specs in my signature).

I'm not sure if I have a video problem or an IE11 problem.

I go to a website that has an embedded YouTube video: http://www.enstarz.com/articles/100841/ ... -video.htm

I scroll down to the video and see this:

Then, I do nothing. I don't click on anything, I don't even play the video. After waiting 1-2 minutes, the screen changes to this:

It doesn't do it in FireFox so I know the easy answer is, "well, use FireFox." But I would still like to fix the problem or at least understand what is causing it.

According to the Intel Driver Update Utility 2.0, I have the latest HD driver - 8.15.10.2993

Checking in IE11, the Shockwave plugin version is 18.0.0.209

Any ideas?

Although I only use IE for one application, here's a couple of things I can think of doing:

- Hover over the video window and see if there's any error message.
- Try to play the video as soon as the page finishes loading.
- Assuming that the problem is due to autoplay, there may be a way to turn it off: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/f ... 55c?auth=1
- Does the YouTube direct link play? https://www.youtube.com/embed/EXp5kjX6mSE
- Does this problem affect every site you go to with IE?

Thanks for the ideas, Ray. Here's what I was able to try quickly:

- Once the big ! is displayed, nothing is displayed hovering the mouse pointer. Also, right-clicking brings up no context menu.
- The video plays but for less than a minute then goes to the big ! F5 refreshes it but only temporarily before going back to the big !
- I'll get back to you on this.
- Yes, the direct link opens the YouTube webpage and the video plays normally to the end.
- I will have to look for other websites with imbedded YouTube videos.

Maybe there is something strange with the way the enstarz.com website is built. It may not be fully IE11 compatible. Maybe it isn't anything with the T410.

I'll try it on my Lenovo M83 desktop to see what it does there.

I'm beginning to think it's a problem with that particular website.

I went to this website on the T410 and had no problem with the embedded YouTube video: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutorials/we ... b-Site.htm

I tried the original webpage on my Lenovo M83 desktop, very similarly configured, and experienced the same problem, although it took much longer, perhaps 5 minutes before the big ! showed up. I had the time to play the entire clip before it failed.

I will continue to monitor the various websites I visit.
