T400 "boot" question

#1 Post by WVZR1 » Sun Aug 23, 2015 10:29 am

I have a 2768-GM1 that I've not used in a few years. It has W7 PRO 64-BIT and I don't recall actually where I got the W7. There was a vendor that advertised here on the TPF at one time and maybe it was them. I DON'T KNOW! I don't seem t have any issues but when this machine "boots" there's a very quick script across the top of the display that I don't recall being there. I do believe that the first word in the script is INTEL ...... It is on the AC adapter full time.

Anyone have an idea of what this script might be or what it does? Is it a display confirmation since this machine has "switchable graphics"?
The PRODUCT ID is a completely numeric set BUT if I run a BELARC inquiry I get a more traditional KEY. It does updates well and I've got the W10 option also. I've looked for my install media and I can't put a hands on. I don't know if maybe the W7 was already on this machine when I bought.

Does anyone have maybe a LENOVO W7 install for this machine? I don't know just exactly what to do. There's no issues but I've decided I might just start to use this machine again and might want to do an SSD. It might be good to have a "fresh install".

If someone is interested in helping drop me a message and I'll share the NUMERIC and the more conventional KEY. I didn't believe it maybe appropriate to post in a thread.
