New T520 owner.

My (little over a year old) Toshiba L75d recently died. In my search for a replacement machine a friend suggested I look at Lenovo ThinkPads.

I had one old IBM ThinkPad given to me many years ago as a project, and while I never go it working, I did remember it's incredible build quality.

After a ton of research here and other places I pulled the trigger on a decent looking machine on e-bay last week. My T520 came today, i7-2620 dual core, 8gb ram 500gb hd, 1600X900, Win 7.

I am super impressed, Returning to a machine with a real keyboard is a joyous experience. (why I bought the T520). Compared to everything about the toshiba it's just....better.

12 hours after I opened the box on #1 this morning I went back to ebay and pulled the trigger on a second T520, (so long student loan $) I'm going to push #2 a little as time and $$ allow while not messing much with #1.

If the upgrades work out with #2 I can migrate them to #1, it also gives me a real computer as a backup.

Just wanted to thank you all for all the great information in this forum, I really believe it helped me make a good choice.

Welcome to the forum!

Happy to hear that you like your "new" T520.

Now that you've been officially bitten by the ThinkPad bug, we expect to see more of you around here.

Enjoy!

Welcome,

some say it's never too late to get on the right path.

I hope you will get more and more excited using a ThinkPad. I know what I'm talking about.

Good luck and have fun.
