T420 experiences

#1 Post by thinkpadcollection » Fri Sep 11, 2015 8:28 pm

I loved the new to me T420 (intel integrated, 8GB, HGST 500GB 7200rpm 32MB) so much that I now realized had to install nearly all of the drivers and utilities in order to work.

A hint: if cannot get bluetooth to work, install hotkey first to toggle it on then can install the driver on this.

One item I'm interested in your comments is expresscache. Anything good about it? I know what this is for but wanted your experiences and pro/cons on that.

Cheers, thinkpadcollection

I run my machines with an SSD so express cache wasn't needed. I've found express cache and turbo memory them to pretty gimicky. I still love my t420. T420 has to be the sturdiest 14" Sandy Bridge made. If I can get 1080p screen on it, I can put a quad core, msata, 2 hard drives and 16gb ram it would be useable for quite some time.
