T410s battery threshold optimization

I picked up a T410s with a Panasonic battery in good condition with ~160 cycles on it and around 85% of its original capacity remaining. How can I best keep this battery running as long as possible using thresholds in power manager? Are the default optimization settings best?

Nope, since the battery will always charge to 100%.
All of mine are set to start charging when under 84% and stop at 94%.
With that said, the batteries
are consumables, even our beloved Panasonic ones.

I meant the "optimize for battery lifespan" option. Does that always charge to 100%?
All the same, I'll go with your manual settings. Thanks.

I generally set mine to 94-98%. It doesn't charge to 100%, but close to that. I was told that the battery wear at high % is quite non-linear, and the difference between 100% and 98% may be as big as between 98% and 90%, in terms of long-term wear. I haven't tested it empirically, though.
The numbers George suggested also sound completely reasonable to me.
In the grand scheme of things, it probably does not matter so much. The age of the battery seems to determine its capacity more than anything else, cycles included. How old is the battery? If it's as old as the laptop (about 5 years), 85% of the original capacity is well within the expected for good batteries.
