T520 upside down, concerning the fan

I want to keep my T520 upside down, for now i am keeping the fan disabled via TPF, while setting it in power save mode, but i need to allow the fan to run a bit to do more heavy stuff...

I have a desktop case fan (8mm or 10mm fan) that i tested this with, simply putting it upside down, results in significantly more noise than if put horizontally or vertically.
and it feels like the fan is coming out of its usual position by 1mm or so.

so how bad could it be for the T520 fan ?

( for those who are wondering why, the reason is because I am trying to do something like this: http://www.incrediblethings.com/wp-cont ... -stand.jpg )

Happens to my T61 even if on its side. There isn't really anything you can do about it, and I imagine its not good for the unit long term. The only real solution would be to get a laptop with a fanless design or don't use it upside down. I would imagine there would be ergonomic/safety/health concerns as well.

I am only doing this for ergonomic reasons.

I am also using a secondary keyboard and touchpad as input, and not flying my hand in the air like the picture in the first post.

If that's your plan, maybe you should consider an All-In-One instead?
