Best Replacement Display for T410

I am considering an inexpensive laptop for my son who says he prefers a 14".
It has to be something that I'll like also since I will probably try it out for a
while. He is mainly going to use it for homework since he has a gaming
computer and gaming platforms.
The T410 seems to make sense since it is 16X10, has a better keyboard
than the later products, and has a decent processor. I've read that the displays
are dim with poor contrast. I'm wondering what is the best replacement
display other than the Lenovo parts that is plug and play if there is anything.
I don't mind just planning on replacing the display if there is something
significantly better.

Dim they're really not. Poor contrast, colour reproduction and viewing angles, yes. Quite usable, nevertheless.

Both of my sons seem to manage to destroy their apple products
so I'm thinking of trying Elementary OS on a T410 and see what
they think of it.
