WLAN card in WWAN PCI slot
Is it possible to put a full sized wireless card in the slot where the WWAN card goes in a T420? I've searched and the only thing I could find was for SSDs. I flashed my bios to get rid of the white-list and the OS doesn't seem to recognize it.
Re: WLAN card in WWAN PCI slot
i do believe its do able. I never tested myself. I run msata on that port.
but in theory if wwan work, wifi card should work as well. If you already done the bios whitelist, have you checked the driver?
Just a question what 2 wifi card you are running?

Re: WLAN card in WWAN PCI slot
I already have the white-listed bios, I tried two different wireless cards and neither works. I'm not sure of the exact models but one was pulled from a Macbook Pro, the other was from a Mac Pro

I doubt it'll work.
Below are the 56-pin connections for WWAN and WLAN.
Try them for comparison, unless you find T420 schematics.
Sort them out in a spreadsheet and have fun!
