T420s bluetooth headset droping

Hi,
I have a T420s with bluetooth 3.0. I recently got a Bluetooth stereo headset http://www.polkaudio.com/hinge-wireless/d/1244 that works perfectly with my phone for hours (older android 2.2 with BT 3.0).
The problem I have with the T420s is that after so long (less than an hour usually), the headset will stop making any sounds. The volume bar still shows there should be sound, the Bluetooth control panel for the headset still shows its connected, and windows troubleshooter never shows a problem.
I have removed the headset and reconnected, as well as remove, but not delete, the drivers for everything in the device manager with no change.
I do notice that after it drops the first time, that each drop after that is shorter, or at least shorter than the first one.
The only way I have found to fix the problem is also to turn off the headset and turn it back on. Trying to disconnect it from the laptop without turning it off just leads to a problem of it not being able to connect.
I know that makes it sound more like a problem with the headset, but then I am also wondering why I can use the headset with my phone for hours, and never have a problem.
