i have since it has stoped working installed a i7 640m and 8gigs of ram but still will not work i have tried reinstalling the latest driver but when i try to enroll a fingerprint gives me some error codes i will paste what they are

E7210005 Cannot Find Fingerprint Sensor Device

i remember when it did work the fingerprint reader went green when u could enroll a fingerprint but now it dosent light up and gives me those errors the error codes are all the same strangly.

can anyone help me i would love to be able to use it, and will help me resell this in the future for a pc build

Reinsert the FPR connector a few times.
Or try the palmrest from another T410 with FPR.
You may have borked either the palmrest or the mobo connector...

while i was waiting for any news i did disconect the FPR connector and blew into it to clear dust and such.

i then reinstalled it and checked the connecters and all was fine.

booted up to windows 7 then opend the FPR aplication and for some reason it gave me the same errors ;/

so i must of borked it or it could be either a softwear problem with the driver. but i am not sure if i can find a older version of the driver if i can find one or get sent a link i will try it out.

it could be due to a 1.5' crack just near the ---> key is located as i did see their was a conector near it. But the connector was looking fine

if it is broken i will have to get a new one and it must be new, then take the core i5 sticker out and buy a new i7 vpro sticker and install it in

its gonna cost me alot, but i can try just getting a new FPR connector as they will be cheaper then forking out around £30+ on a hole palmrest.

Thanks for the reply! :D
