hi their, i have heard that you can get a external Graphics card for a t410 but requires a desktop gpu and a psu
as i would like better gaming performance and its letting my core i7 640m down due to the hd graphics (even though it is modded)
i just need a Gpu that i can play Rust Legacy, Experamental, Minecraft, mafia 2, gta 4, nfsmw 2012, sims 4
im not a hardcore gamer needing a titanx i just need a graphics card that can play the game i have listed smoothly 40 fps up on low to medium settings at 1440x900 if not i am fine lowering the resolution i just cant take the Hd graphics no more!
i am not allowed to sell my laptop as i got it for christmas, and i am not allowed a pc yet one day
if their is any way to connect a external gpu that can play the games i have listed please leave a reply saying what card it is and what psu it is and also how to do it
Thanks!!

The Brits are supposed to have a better language knowledge...
But you can edit your own post(s) and correct your own mistakes.

You need a very high performance bus that goes out of the laptop. The 410 doesnt how have one. To be fair, very few laptops do.
There are express 34 cards that feed a case that holds a GPU... you might give that a go but I hear express 34 isnt as big a bandwidth as you need so mid power gpus are needed.
To me these are more curios rather than a solution. Thing is you can assemble a decent PC for really not much more than this whole setup.

I have heard about that mini pci dock, it looks good but is very pricy plus I have to pay for a gpu and cables
its worth the money as I do not want to build a hole new pc and end up paying a ton on it i dont even tho what gpu will work for the games i said about.
They only sell the mini pci port and the other ports. But I sware thats what comes with it and I am not good with the wires.

It looks like Lenovo only made one dock, the ThinkPad Advanced Dock, for the T60 - T400 generation that supported PCI Express gpus. However, it ran at 1x speed, not 16x. 16x speed cards will work but will very likely be bottlenecked.

So if I got one of them and a geforce gt 610 or gt 640 it could work with the dock?
will it be bottle necked due to my core I7 640m or is it due to being a dock?

They should work, but sometimes the dock can be picky with certain cards. They need to be low profile and use < 50 watts. In regards to performance, the slow interface of the dock will probably bottleneck any card faster than a 5770. But remember, these docks only work for T60/T61/T400(excluding 's' model)/T500/W500 models,
not the T410.
Here is a pic of amount of space you need:

@TheMagicT410:
You just made 3 posts one after another.
If the last post in a thread is yours, and you want to add more info, please just EDIT your last post, instead of making a new one.
Thank you.

I am not sure how you plan to use this dock since it doesn't work for T410 models, but here is a thread for what other gpus members have put in their advanced dock:

You could create an eGPU setup using the express card slot on the laptop, but it is expensive and you will probably run into reliability issues. The better route would be to purchase something like a W520 with the quadro 2000m. You keep the classic keyboard, get a fairly decent gpu, and optional FHD display.

Hmm, I will look how much they go for. Would it run rust legacy/experimental at atleast 30+fps lowest settings?

Quadro 2000m can play Mafia 2 at high settings at 1920x1080.

a big list of games, and their likelihood of being playable on different cards:

I think even the cheaper quadro 1000m should be quite a decent improvement for what you need.
