T500 'Rainbow' logo?

Good eve,

I've been away far too long... I think my last post here was about eight or so years back!

Anyway, just got hold of a very clean T500/4G/160GB/with camera and fingerprint reader. I think the thing must have been a retired off-lease because it looks like it has barely been touched.

Did anyone ever make any of the 'ThinkPad'/IBM 'Rainbow' logo stickers for the case? I've checked Ebay without success (unless I went right by them...)

Thanks much.

As far as I know, early T61s (andd early models of contemporary series) are the last Thinkpads with the IBM subtitle: Thinkpad from the factory, before they were replaced with Thinkpad subtitle: T series badges, set in the shape of the IBM badges. The basges are the same shape, allowing for Lenovo employees to peel off the IBMs and replace with the new badges.

T500 uses new, reshaped Thinkpad badges with no biline. I imagine that to get the IBM badges, you'd need to carve out the slots for the shaped Thinkpad badges to fit IBM badges, or replace the palmrest and lid backplate with those of a 15.4" T61. These aren't ideal, because T61 has a smaller touchpad and a palmrest screw won't fit, and the T61 lid is designed to house a thinner LCD cable than T500's, so get the dremel ready.

Although, one could probably just glue acquired IBM badges on top of the Thinkpad ones. The silver stickers from Z series are nice.
