Latch Won't Work After Replacing Bezel

Took the bezel off as part of the process of installing a new LCD. Latch works great until I snap the bezel in place. Then it doesn't move. What am I doing wrong?

Update, I took it back apart and examined the mechanism on the underside of the bezel. I don't see anything obviously broken, and it works like it's supposed to so long as it isn't snapped into place. Once it's snapped in, however, all the action leaves the latch.
Logic says it must not be fitting right, but it appears otherwise perfect. Is there a special way to put it back on?

I take it your talking about a T400/T500? I had the same issue with this on my T61. It turned out that the thin metal piece connecting the latches was not aligned properly. When the bezel was snapped and screwed into place, it would actually be making direct contact with the metal piece, preventing it from moving.

Yeah, sorry, my T420.
I thought about that as well. I haven't been able to assess where the contact might be occurring, but it has to be something like that.
Thanks for the input.

On a T410i I had the same thing a few days ago. Turned out the latch mechanism was hitting the backing plate of newly installed mouse buttons.
Check HMM, perhaps you're not putting the bezel on correctly. If that doesn't work, take the bezel off and move the latch back and forth. Then look at the underside of the bezel and figure out where contact points are.
