new T410 LGC battery - orange light

#1 Post by VanZan » Sat May 21, 2016 1:42 pm

I bought a brand new LGC battery for my T410 some months back. From a reputable seller on eBay. Used the laptop yesterday evening and completely discharged the battery. Unusual for me as I normally use them on AC power. Now I can't get it to recharge. It's stuck on that darned orange light.

The battery info for it is still good. Surely it couldn't have died? I hardly used the darn thing. I've tried a few things like removing the battery and ac and holding the power button but sadly nothing. Really getting me down. I'm furious because it cost me €70 and I hardly used it.

:edit: I tried the battery in a different laptop and it was fine. I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the T410. It's not charging any batteries and it's giving a false percentage of the current charge. Doesn't look good.

I've discovered over here http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 26#p781290 two reports (three if you count me) of people having charging issues that resolved itself magically after a few days.
So maybe there's hope :??:

lol I can't see this fixing itself. It's not charging the battery, reporting a false percentage and when I disconnect the AC the light continues flashing even with the laptop turned off!!! And what's more I had the T410 up for sale. Luckily I found the problem before selling it to someone.
