My two old laptops (7, 5 1/2 years, Acer, Asus) died within the past week and I'm currently using a probably 14 year old 12" 210 Thinkpad that I bought used on EBay 5 years ago or so, upgraded to 1.5Meg RAM, then from XP to Windows 7 and now Windows 10. I had never used it but bought a new battery for it and now found that it works fine, if a little slow when several apps are open. I'm so impressed with its sturdiness that I just bought 2 reconditioned Thinkpads on Walmart online: a T530, 64Meg Ram, 256 GB SSD, and a T410, 4Meg RAM, 500GB hard drive. The T530 was $450, and the T410 was $205. Questions: if needed, how difficult is it to replace a hard drive or SSD on these machines. The batteries are inexpensive online and I'll be using the laptops plugged in in my home office anyway. Thanks to all. I bought them at Walmart since they're easily returnible within 15 days. They'll be arriving tomorrow or Tuesday.

Replacing the drives is dead easy on both machines, just make sure you follow the steps from the corresponding hardware maintenance manuals (HMM):

T530
T410

That's must be a typo, T530 normally supports 16GB RAM AFAIK, there are few models with quad core CPU's that have 4 RAM banks, meaning it can take max 32GB
