T410 battery orange light issue
I recently bought this laptop from my friend, since he is not using it anymore, so i plugged in the supplied battery and ac and turned on.
After installing Power Manager 6, it didn't detect my battery, so i reseated the battery, it detected and it stated the battery was fine
detected my charger 65W but somehow loose connection after 15 seconds
Windows detects the battery fine, and i have put double sided tape on the battery so it won't wobble and the same thing happens again.
How do i resolve this, i really don't have the money to buy a new battery.

That battery is probably 5 years old already.
If it keeps blinking orange, the battery probably died from not being used.
Get e.g. this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/122089771043

Re: T410 battery orange light issue
From Lenovo's site:
--------------------------
-Orange: The battery has between 5% and 20% charge
-Fast blinking orange: The battery has less than 5% charge.
Note: The battery may be charging.
-Slow blinking orange: The battery is being charged. When it reaches 20%, the blinking color changes to green.
-Quick blinking orange: An error has occurred in the battery.
--------------------------
If you try charging the battery for more than a few hours and the light still flashes orange fast, then it's likely dead.

The battery itself is new, from 2015. He fully charged the laptop before not using it for 1 year. To be exact, 14-12-15.RealBlackStuff wrote:That battery is probably 5 years old already.

It slowly goes from slow blinking to fast. I left it for about 12 hours, it still wouldn't work.brchan wrote:From Lenovo's site:

That battery is defective and you should remove it and dispose of it before the charging circuit on the motherboard gets damaged.fluorineandfriends wrote: It slowly goes from slow blinking to fast. I left it for about 12 hours, it still wouldn't work.

Re: T410 battery orange light issue
Must agree with the experts above. When I had the quick orange blink shortly after getting my original T400, it turned out to be a defective cell in the battery.
Re: T410 battery orange light issue
Out of the thousands of Thinkpads that have passed thru my hands, I have never seen one with a burnt out charging section.
To be fair, I rarely see many completely dead Lenovo batteries, even rarer to see low cycle count dead batteries.
I put Lenovo batteries much better than HP and way above Dell.
Dells are the worst in this class as far as batteries go but you already know that.
Thankfully Lenovo batteries arent hard to find and the non genuine ones arent too bad but I find some Lenovo niche models hard to get eg. X300s and any of the S models.
