I have a T510 with Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Its battery light is on even when I powered it off. I have to press the power button for 30 seconds to get the batter light off. If I don't do it, the battery will become flat after overnight. In the meanwhile, when the laptop is running multitasks, the top left side of the keyboard (fan location) is very hot and almost overheat. I already upgraded the BIO via System Update 5. Can anyone help?

For the overheating issue, most likely that it's a combination of dust buildup inside the heatsink and the thermal paste drying up. If you haven't cleaned the heatsink or replaced the thermal paste, then it's imperative that you do so immediately. Grab a copy of the T510's Hardware Maintenance Manual, arm yourself with the proper tools and materials, and spend an afternoon cleaning it.

As for the battery, check your Windows settings if it's going into standby rather than shutting down.

that's really helpful and really appreciate it. I will have to solve this overheating issues first.

The battery light which stays on when the machine is powered off is most likely a motherboard problem, and not an easily resolvable one in my experience. Keeping the system plugged in will likely prevent the battery from getting depleted.

I second the advice of cleaning the heatsink and possibly re-applying some fresh thermal paste as well. These machines are 6 years old now and could definitely use refreshing of the paste if it hasn't been done yet.

Thanks mate. Actually not just the battery light still on. Below the LCD screen, the middle light between the WIFI and hard drive light is on as well. I will apply the thermal paste one day when I learn how to open it properly

When you reboot the system to Windows does Windows say "The system has recovered from a serious error?" or something like that. If so, the lights remaining on could be indicative of an issue in your environment, perhaps a driver issue, that is preventing your machine from shutting down all the way. If the middle light is staying on, perhaps the Wimax driver is at fault and preventing the laptop from shutting down?

No there is no such words. Furthermore, this problem existed before I reinstalled the system. Previously our company wiped out the original system and installed the Win 7 32bit pro. I got this machine and took out the hard drive. I got the original recovery disk from Lenovo Australia including the driver disks and installed it into my clean HDD. I updated the System Update 5 and all the drivers from Lenovo website. The issues are still the same as the ones when I didn't have Lenovo drivers but the Microsoft drivers before.
