T520 fan error

My T520 had fan error on boot this morning so I blasted it out and oiled it, however it's still only booting half the time. I remember reading about using a thermal module from a unit with discrete nvidia graphics for better cooling but I am having trouble finding it with search. If anyone knows the name of the post could you please let me know? Thank you
