t420 IPS mods?

im looking to mod my t420 with an IPS panel, either 1080p or 1440p, does anyone know of anyone currently selling these mod kits? im not shy about taking apart a computer, and i would very much like to avoid sending off my laptop, so id be looking to purchase the kit for installation myself.

also, has anyone bought these kinds of kits from taobao themselves directly? im looking at a 1440p kit, but i cant tell whether its offering the screen with the kit or just the boards to take a supported 1440p display, and if the display is with it, whether its IPS or not.

Have you seen this? The thread is mostly clogged up with "I want one" posts, but skim through it to get the skinny on the T420 "non s" kit problems.

I have one of the first release "non s" kits in my T420 which tested out okay on one T420 but on mine still glitches. I've gotten used to it, and it's really not bad - but the fact that after many months of troubleshooting, the folks at 51nb have yet to get the fix to 100%. As a result they've never been distributed en masse beyond the small circle of those close to the design and test teams on mainland China. If they have in fact come to a resolution I'd imagine we'd hear about it here eventually, so the fact that you've disovered something is intriguing. However... I would recommend a quick double check to be sure that it's not in fact a kit for an "s" model, which are now fairly common, as those were the first to be designed which also don't have issues. The non-s kit was a spawn of the s kit.

its a very long thread, i only skimmed the first and last pages.

i assumed that it being on that site there may well be some resellers on here.
