#1 Post by thinkpadcollection » Tue Nov 01, 2016 3:20 pm

Is there a way to turn off this auto dim on start up without installling windows 7 and thinkpad utilties to turn off this feature? I'm running ubuntu right now.

Cheers, thinkpadcollection

I don't believe there is actually, you may have to install a hard drive and throw windows 7 on it just to change it off. I forgot I had turned that option on and switched to Linux without realizing it. I ended up just tossing in a spare hard drive and switching it back.

For some reason ubuntu 16.10 finally figured out and turned off the dim backlight on startup. :)
