T410 & 60Y3263 Gobi 2000

#1 Post by Old Nick » Sun Nov 06, 2016 2:58 pm

Is the 60Y3263 WWAN card a "drop in" on machines that didn't have it out of the factory?

I have a T410 (2522-RE3) that was bought with a Gobi 2000 WWAN card straight out of the factory.

1. Yes, the Gobi 2000 WWAN card (aka Mobile Broadband) is a "drop in" card into your T410 that did not have it out of the factory.

2. You need to see if your LCD had a pre-built-in WWAN antenna in your notebook commputer. If you don't have this, you *CANNOT* receive WWAN signals!
(Typically Lenovo places the WWAN antenna near where your view-cam is).

3. ***Please also check to see if your unit has a pre-built-in SIM card slot, which is just behind the removable battery.
ie: You need to remove the battery, and there should be a SIM card slot placeholder near the middle of the notebook computer where the battery was.

Specifically, I am not sure if *all* T410 models had this pre-built-in SIM card slot, hence asking you to check for this first.
