1 minute until fully charged....

I've strangely had this issue on two different T410 specimens, both with 9 cell Sanyos, one down to 44wh full charge capacity and now this one at 67wh. Lenovo Power Manager is adamant that the the battery will fully charge to 100% in 1 minute.
Well it's been a bit longer than that and it's still at 99% "charging".
Windows is also convinced that the battery is charging with a 4-6 minute estimate but you'd think it'd get to 100% sooner or later...
What's going on?? Is this safe?

I dont bother with that. I usualy ask it to stop charging at 95%.
The computer is trying to apply logic to a chemical process so you will find anomalies at either end of the scale.

I've never seen the battery gauge be accurate on the time estimates on my T410 (9 cell Sanyo at ~65 Wh) and T430 (with old 6 cell battery at 11.16 Wh now and fresh 6 cell at 56.49 Wh). The 7-6 minute estimate to be fully charged around 98 to 99% usually takes about 20 minutes to actually go up 1%. If you observe the information carefully though, you see that the current drops off to a lower value than between other interim percentages (30-80%), so it's not a linear charge.
If you need to know that the T410 is fully charged with the lid closed, the green LED light will remain solid at 99-100%.

Thanks.
I'm just concerned by how it says it's "charging". Is it actually putting current into the battery, despite it evidently not charging, and is this safe to live with?
I recall reading there was a recall on Lenovo batteries that fit the T410 because apparently some overheated so I wonder if this behavior is related to that.
edit: Nevermind. It took it long enough for it says 100% now. Thanks for your help everyone.
I agree and understand the sentiment of not fully charging it though.

When this starts happening, I do the gauge reset, and the result tends to be a capacity change.
Its all so because the battery charge circuitry is trying to get the battery to a certain voltage, ad the battery is resisting. So eventually, the charger just gives up, and tells you it's full.
As long as it's not like my T420s, it was doing that, but it would run the machine for about 2 hours, then suddenly, it was running out of power in less than 15 minutes. The battery went from green to red in like 2 cycles.
Something in that battery got damaged.

No, it's just one of those things that the T410 does (my batteries that I discussed above were all not part of the recall and I just got the new T430 70+ battery a month ago). I know it doesn't help much since I keep saying it.

All of my laptops get stuck on 99% charging for a couple hours until they finally hit 100%, so it seems to be normal. I wouldn't worry about it.
