Have a t420S with windows 10, Intel i5-2520mcpu @2.50ghz, 8gb ram, 64 bit x64 processor. Trying to format 2tb usb 2.5" seagate sata hard drive for use. tried several of the "cases" to house drive for insertion in dvd slot but did not recognize drive. Now, trying usb case. Can see the drive under "owner-c" - shows the device as "not migrated", "configured" and "installed". Any suggestions on how to format this drive for use? Or is it too large for this think pad? Not compatible? And how can you post screen shots here?

Many thanks!

hello kitty.. :)

never tried formatting a 2 TB HDD.. especially a 2.5 inch drive..
BUT when i DO format drives and come up against some hidden little "gotcha!" (term from homebrew computer club c. 1976MOL and maybe still current) i now turn to Acronis and their utilities.. in fact i just got an email from them with a special they're running..

your mileage may vary but so far for me they are the cats meow.. :)

The T420s has no trouble handling a 2 TB drive.
Your question is, therefore, how do I format a 2TB drive in Windows 10.
