Hi, i have a non-oem battery thinkpad 70++(6 cell) which has a voltage of 10.8. When I plugged in the ac adapter which is a 65w 20v charger,
the battery is not being detected. I tried reinstalling power manager, which also says the same thing, battery not detected. The thinkpad battery eeprom updater also says the same thing. Currently I am trying to do the freezer method, I tried to do it out of desperation.

edit: the charge controller works, i have a board from an old battery to test it.

it appears that the battery says 11.8v instead of 10.8, on the model I realised that it says t430, but thinkpad battery are interchangeable right?

Try a 90W charger, and/or try the battery in another system.
Also, some BIOSes (T430/T530/W530/X230 and upwards) have a checker built-in that won't charge batteries that are not specific for that model.

Not all X230 batteries will work in a X220, although I believe all X220 will work in X230. May be the same for the T420.

It's the other way around.

A 70++ should work in all laptops with whom it's physically compatible.

I'm currently ordering the mentioned charger. I forgot to tell my model a T410 2537-LV6 with modded bios, whitelist disabled 6IET85WW (1.45)

When you say non-OEM, where exactly did you procure it from? There's some Chinese fakes that look like the real deal but just won't charge.

Cheap aftermarket batteries are hit or miss, can be unreliable, and I wouldn't rule out sudden death being the battery's fault before the Thinkpad's. Try to get another, or a used genuine one. T410, newer 20, or newest 30-era original batteries are still young enough to be useful.

I found that sometimes the battery, oem or non oem sometimes needs a boost from a 90w or better charger.

65w is enough if you're using it day to day but if you let the battery go deal flat...
