T400 screen cable part number?

Hi,

I am having screen issues with a T400 - similar to this post (viewtopic.php?f=45&t=123104) and this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O2cx9T4DI8). Note when the screen is 'dark' the ThinkPad logo is faintly visible on bootup, but nothing once OS begins. Always works on external monitor. Adjusting angle can 'find' sweet spot where it works again. Power, battery, CAPs LEDs all dark when screen goes dark...? Is it the cable?

Replacement cable - actual PN in machine is 93P4591, with another number on motherboard end of ASMP44C1331 and indeed other numbers(11S42T0968Z1ZE4N8915AP and LCD11S42T0580Z1ZEYW171775 809) !!!

Various sellers are offering the 93P4591 or 93P45493 as interchangable...? Are these interchangable? Does it matter once the cable has camera & bluetooth? Are there different screen-end connectors depending on actual acreen?
Is there another cable without camera / bluetooth (dont use either) that would also fit?

Welcome to the Forum.

Click on the HMM link at the top of this page to download the T400 manual.
You'll find that the T400 has different screens (with CCFL or LED backlight) and with different resolutions.
Hence some cables are for CCFL, others for LED, some have Bluetooth or not and/or webcam or not.
Plenty to choose from.

It would help if you give us the TYPE from the label on the laptop's bottom.

Got the HMM, thanks. Had a look through it for T400 section.
I can't seem to get the serial number lookup online to find the machine

Machine details: Type: 6475 B13
Screen is a 14.1" WXGA Lcd: Samsung LTN141W1-L05 P/N 42T0580 FRU: 42T0581. Max res 1280x800.

When you buy one, always look very carefully and pick the right one!
Your laptop has CCFL, Bluetooth and webcam, so the cable you need is: 44C5362 a.k.a. 93P4591

Any ideas why some sellers list this FRU (44C5362) with a different part numbers (i.e. 93P4591 versus 93P4593)... ? For example this looks correct:

That Aliexpress cable looks OK to me, has everything you need.
Lots of sellers don't even know (or care) what they are selling and mistakes, especially with P/N or FRU, are easily made.
