Hacking dim T420 screen to 350 nits

#1 Post by jaspen-meyer » Mon Mar 27, 2017 5:46 am

My T420 screen's brightness is 141 nits. The screen model is "B140XW03 V1"

I want to increase this screen's brightness to 350 nits.

What hacks are available to increase the brightness?

Probably not my LED kits/parts :-(

Most of the new LED-lit LCDs have gone to a slimmer design with a much thinner waveguide-- not only is the strip too thick to fit in the backlight channel, the LEDs I have are themselves are too large to efficiently inject light into the wavegide.

I could easily be wrong, that's just a guess.
