I am randomly getting this error, first when I start the computer, then randomly while running.
Is there anyway I can fix this?

Personally I'd just uninstall Lenovo System Update. It's been found to have gobs of security flaws and such fairly recently.

Thanks, I am not sure if I can Uninstall it with missing executable but I'll try.
How do you get system updates like bios etc without Lenovo system update?

The same way I'd get drivers and applications otherwise; just by hopping on the website and browsing through the available software to download.

I think they had a web version of the software update in the past, you could click and let it search for your hardware. How about Lenovo Solution Center? Do you guys keep that or uninstall that too, because that seems to be the only place where you can find the current BIOS version before checking for an update.

I'm not sure about Solution Center. Honestly I uninstall all the bloatware on these machines; the only preloaded stuff I keep is limited pretty much to Power Manager and the fingerprint software (if the machine has the scanner).

Getting the BIOS version is easy. Just open up a command prompt and type wmic bios get biosversion (or if you prefer you can just type wmic bios for more info).

Thank you, I got rid of it along with solution center. Thanks for letting me know how to check the BIOS.

There are certain Lenovo bloat that shows up in Metro interface, but I don't see them in control panel uninstall like Lenovo Messenger.
What is Lenovo Dependency Package and Lenovo App Services.

I am keeping Fingerprint and Active Protection and Lenovo On Screen Display. (I love lenovo's OSD since Lenovo decided to remove led indicator on Caps Lock)
