Is It Possible To Use PC's Bluetooth In Place of BT Mouse's USB dongle?

#1 Post by jimwg » Sat Aug 05, 2017 3:41 pm

Greetings!

I wish to use my T400's built-in Bluetooth to connect with a Bluetooth USB wireless mouse so I can drop its dongle and free a USB port. Windows Bluetooth app can't discover the mouse whether the the dongle is there or not.

Thanks for any tips!

Doubt it. Most wireless mice use a proprietary inferface, not bluetooth.
Probably should be Thinkpad16by10.

Looking For: 386 laptop, IBM or not.

If your internal WWAN slot is free you could get one of these

And then put the proprietary receiver in there.

I did this with an old Logitech Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I lost the use of some of the buttons because the Logitech driver, needed to recognize them, wouldn't work with the standard Bluetooth receiver in my T500.
If you decide to do this, I highly recommend AutoHotKey. It will easily detect the codes of any buttons the do work, and let you program the heck out of them and everything else.

On all: Win7, TPFC, DFX Audio Enhancer, MegaSync, AutoHotKey
