Hi,
I bought a T400 from Ebay about a week ago. It is in very good condition apart from the right click on the Trackpoint and Trackpad does not work. I have updated the BIOS in it to the latest version I could find on Lenovo's site from 2012. There doesn't seem to be any damage to the Keyboard assembly. This has me completely baffled.
There are no other issues with the T400 besides this apart this. Any help or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

T400 no right click on the Trackpoint or Trackpad
Re: T400 no right click on the Trackpoint or Trackpad
Welcome to the forum.
To diagnose the problem:
1. Try disabling the touchpad in the BIOS and test if the trackpoint works fine
2. If (1) did not change anything, try removing the palmrest and physically disconnecting the touchpad from the board (the keyboard and trackpoint are on the same cable, the touchpad has a separate one)
If after this the trackpoint works fine, then you have a faulty touchpad. In the end signals from the trackpoint and the touchpad get multiplexed on the same cable, so one faulty device can affect the other.

I did as you said in the first you point you mentioned. The right click on the Trackpoint works now. It looks like there is a problem with the Trackpad. I paid £60 for that T400 off Ebay......it was very cheap. They normally go for about £100. I actually bought it for a Nephew of mine who is starting college soon.
It is the 3rd Thinkpad I've bought. I also have an X60s and a T430.
Once again, I can't thank you enough for your help
