T420s / Win10 - using center button for scrolling results in black screen
T420s / Win10 - using center button for scrolling results in black screen
Hi,
I am using Windows 10 (64bit) Pro on a 420s. I know it's not officially supoorted, but it works quite well.
What drives me insane is the following:
- I use the center button of the trackpad to scroll (in combination with the Trackpoint)
- every time I press the center button and release it (scrolling or not), the screen goes black
- the screen comes back after a while when I scroll or simple press the center button again.
Has anyone made a similar experience and tell me how to fix this. Scrolling with the center button is so ingrained in my habits, it's hard to "unlearn".
Any other form of scrolling ("left-click on scrollbar" or "two-finger trackpad") work just fine.
Thanks
Michael

I never knew you could scroll this way. But on my T420s with Windows 10 (64bit) Pro, it works fine.

Try reinstalling ultranav driver.
Reseating keyboard.
Or trying with another keyboard.

Re: T420s / Win10 - using center button for scrolling results in black screen
I don't get any black screen on my T420 but I'd like the scrolling mode to stick when I press the center button and then scroll with motion momentum using the touch pad (with one finger) or operating the red joy stick. This worked with the latest Synaptics drivers and earlier versions of Win10 but it stopped working after updating Windows. I got back this functionality by instead installing a PS/2-compatible driver but then the gestures are gone. Will try fiddling with the registry settings to see whether I can get back back this functionality even with the Synaptics driver.

In Ultranav you can set what the middle-button does.
