Is there anyone out there who has experience with this particular AUO 1600x900 panel and can offer an opinion on its performance? Or, perhaps there is a more appealing option which I have overlooked? I'm interested in stepping up to a 1600x900 panel with better contrast and viewing angles, but a more expansive color space would also be appreciated if such a thing is possible. I seldom find myself in a position (outdoors?) where I find that the OEM brightness is insufficient.
If I understand correctly, a 1600x900 panel will require an upgrade to the 04W1618 cable, which I find is readily available on ebay and elsewhere. Are there any other care points with which I will need to be aware?
Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I didn't realize that the AUO B140RTN02.1 was used in the Alienware machines. It is obvious from those pics that the difference between the two panels is absolutely massive!
I'm honestly surprised that I'm not of my fourth set of hinges; the viewing angle of the OEM screen is so narrow, that I find myself constantly fiddling with the panel angle adjustment. Next to the low resolution/blurry text, the abysmal viewing angles are probably my biggest complaint about the OEM hardware.
Thanks so much for your help. This is now a VERY easy decision for me to make.
