I tried to remember sending an email notification when I print labels. But can't always remember.
Yeah I just noticed on the shipping notice that it's pretty much being shipped from my backyard. I could have saved you the time and postage!

Order processed up to Jan.15th. Will move on tomorrow.
If your order is placed before Jan.15th and there's nothing wrong with your address, you should be able to see a tracking number by now.
Do you have an updated display compatibility list?

Although it is listed as B140QAN01.5 or compatible, so it was a bit of a gamble getting that one.
Just bought two from the same seller, and if it of any help to anyone, I asked in advance if it was (still) the B140QAN01.5 one would receive when ordering, it is.
I was waiting for more info on the B140QAN02.0. It really seems a bit gimmickly with an AdobeRGB color space that isn't covered fully, and HDR on LCD, let alone without thousands of dimmable zones is nonsene. Secondly, if you could get content making use of HDR, there's no chance on earth that the T420s or T430s would be able to software-render it, and would require at least a Kaby Lake generation CPU to play HDR encoded movies, due to DRM. Of course the 500 nits are excellent for outdoor use, however.

Re: T420s/T430s WQHD kits pre-order
I got the kit today and finished installing with AUO B140QAN01.5 panel on my T430s.
It seems like working properly, but the screen consistently and irregularly blinks.
The secure boot option is turned off (nothing appears with the option turned on).
My T430s is i7 and with dGPU, NVS4200M.
Is there anyone who succeeded installing with this configuration?
I'm sending an email to RMSmajestic regarding this problem I have, but I want to hear from you guys as well.
This is the video of what's happening
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2p0o1rp6b8kby ... 9.mp4?dl=0
Update:
By chance, I have a T420s with NVS4200M as well, so I tested the kit with it.
And it works without any problem. That is, both the display and the kit are ok.
If possible, I'd rather going with T430s than T420s. So it's quite disappointing that the kits doesn't work with T430s.
I guess that it's a somewhat bios-related problem, but I'm not sure about anything.
Any ideas?

just ordered a LP140QH1(SP)(A2) that should be here Thursday and then this will be my weekend fun.

Re: T420s/T430s WQHD kits pre-order
So, I've had a little bit of an interesting experience with this project - I ended up with what is marked as (SP)(E1) and didn't work properly at all...a second order resulted in a glossy "SPB1" (I should've remembered to specify...).
Anyway, I got frustrated and set out to fix the first panel. After some reversing/debugging I found with two bodge wires it's possible to map the IT6251 controller chip into the i2c interface containing Javi's EDID (which just reports LP140QH-SPB1). This lets you use a slightly modified version of xobs' utility to dump the actual EDID of the attached device. Programming this EDID over to Javi's EEPROM can be done with any random i2c utility. I got mine working, but modesetting seems to be broken. Pretty sure that is due to the Coreboot config I'm running, because everything else works. Probably will flash the stock BIOS back and test just to be sure, but this could open up support for a bunch of other panels
I see why Javi didn't use just the IT6521 to provide EDID (windows doesn't know how it works, Linux only does if you bring in Novena patches...), but it would've been nice to tie it into i2c!
To save anyone who does this some time, the IT6251 is mapped at addresses 0x5d (dp controller) and 0x5e (lvds controller). You'll need to fix up xob's utility to respect that. The actual EDID EEPROM is at 0x50 - this might be a standard thing?
Anyway, tl;dr: folks who have panels which don't work - PM me, maybe we can fix them!
Edit: OK, only Coreboot with libgfxinit really works, the original BIOS is a mess. Back to the drawing board, but I have some thoughts..

Just saying. This mod is not only converting LVDS signals to eDP signals. Because the panel is 8 bit there is also this process of mapping 6 bit colors to 8 bit. Which the energy efficient chip couldn't handle. So once you write the panel's EDID into the kit there's still this color mapping issue.
Maybe I can ask Javi to develop a little program for writing the EDID info to the EEPROM. I just don't know if he will have any spare time......
Hats off for what you have done!

Re: T420s/T430s WQHD kits pre-order
I'm going to to this upgrade anyway, but battery life is a bit of a concern for me. What has been anyone real life usage of battery life before and after this mod?
I'm using a T420s with dedicated gpu, and i7 cpu.
I see the LG LP140QH1 screen uses a lot less power than the AUO B140QAN01.1 / B140QAN01.5 and actually less power than the stock screen if I figured this out correctly.

Hats off for what you have done!
I haven't done much since, I've been travelling a lot for work...But that's good to know, it might explain some of the issues I've run into. The largest problem with some of the incompatible panels as far I can tell is the mismatched pixel clocks - I don't have my notes open right now, but I think it falls over pretty hard on 260 MHz pixel clock, and works on 240 MHz. Exact figures might be off.
So, as far as I know, the i2c bus required for rewriting the EDID isn't exposed to the laptop without my modification. There is something on the bus I don't recognize and can't decode the p/n for, which leads to the 3 test pads. It didn't respond to any i2c addresses if I recall, so if Javi wants to disclose how that interface works this might be easier! Also, this is a project I'm OK putting a little time into, if Javi is up to share some information
Will probably get back to hacking on this after I close up a few other projects (namely, implementing write/erase/control support over JTAG for the x30 EC controller...).

Just received my kit today. Super excited!
For some reason, I had thought the kit would include installation instructions, but all I found in the package was the converter board and a few pieces of tape. Are the instructions available online somewhere?
