Refurbished T510 with Windows 10 - Intel HD Graphics Problem

#1 Post by Pastorerik » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:55 pm

Hello all,

Helping a young man from my church that just bought a Refurb T510 from Walmart. He likes to play the game Overwatch.
When launching the game he gets an error that says "No Compatible Graphics Hardware was Found"
It is equipped with Intel HD Graphics card. I searched for hours and could not find any other info as far as a number for that GPU
Checking Device manage only says Intel HD Graphics.... After searching for hours, I found that the number of the graphics card
is related to the cpu? In this case the CPU is Intel Core i5 520M....which, according to what I read would make the GPU a
520. That card, does match the specs required for the game.

I am not sure what is going on, but my theory is that there is a driver conflict. It has Windows 10 (installed by the refurbisher)
but the driver date is 2012, which is before Win10 came out. Could that be the problem? We tried to update the driver, but it says
no updates are available/needed. Also downloaded the intel tool, and it also said that no updates are available.

I searched and searched but I could not find a Win10 driver compatible for this system. On top of that, on the Lenovo site
the T510 is not listed as compatible for Win10.

Hoping there is a solution, or I am going to advise him to take it back.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Intel HD 520 graphics is 6th gen Skylake. That i5 520M is Intel HD graphics and is a first gen i5. Overwatch requires Intel 4400 which is 4th gen graphics. Sadly it is to old to play Overwatch.
Overwatch requirements:
Operating system: Windows Vista/7/ 8/10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
Processor: Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom X3 865.
Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460, ATI Radeon HD 4850, orIntel HD Graphics 4400.
Memory: 768 MB VRAM, 4 GB System RAM.
Storage: 7200 RPM with 5 GB available HD space.

Thank you! I wish I would have found this forum before spending 4-5 hours researching, and trying different stuff. Before he bought
it we looked at the specs, and it only said Intel HD Graphics....and on one list that is all that Overwatch said, I did find later where it
had 4400 listed, and 520 and some others....

Thanks again for your input, I'll advice him to take it back (Nice thing about WalMart!) and we'll look for another.

Now that I am done researching this problem...I think I'll play Overwatch!
