A while ago I had my ThinkPad T420 for sale but kept it for awhile longer. I got back into using my ThinkPad again and I noticed the problem when typing out words on the keyboard. It will skip my mouse around and move the scroll up and mess up my typing or worse, select a sentence and delete it. Don't know how it deletes it but it does. My other problem was the level of the trackpoint mouse keys with the touchpad. I already set the taping on the touchpad to off.
I like the T420 but my T400 has the T61 best features, the only down for my T400 is that it is a Core 2 Duo and cannot even get a Core i processor for it. The touchpad is also the large type like the T410/T420 has. I am not sure why they made the touchpad big as the T61 was fine to me.
Here is a image of my T61 and T410 where my hand rest on them when using the trackpoint. (bottom page)

If you don't use it, why don't you just turn the touchpad off completely?ThinkPad560X wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 3:11 amI got back into using my ThinkPad again and I noticed the problem when typing out words on the keyboard. Re: ThinkPad T420 hand laying on touchpad
I use the touchpad sometimes if I am in a hurry of fast mouse moving.
