Horribly slow write speeds on t420s micro sd 128gb
Hi, I bought Sandisk micro sd 128gb to expand memory on my t420s. But my card reader behaves strange; when I insert card, everything is normal, reading speeds are normal. But when I try to write some files on that sd card, the writing speeds are about 100 Kb(!!) per second. The file transfer window is shown immediately, but the task starts cca 30s later. When I insert this 128Gb card in my t420 (non S) everything works fine. When I insert 64gb in my t420s, everything is fine. I updated the multi card driver and i does not helps.
Any suggestions, please?

Update:
Crystal mark is 41MB/s read and 23Mb/s write (Seq Q32T1)
But the problem lasts; windows file transfer dialogue says only 26,0 kb/s, when I copy file on that card

I think the card reader might be broken. If some of the data lines are broken it will use one of them AFAIK and stick to it at a stupidly slow rate like 26kb/s. See if replacing the reader if possible works.t420poklop wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:28 pmUpdate:

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

That is interesting idea, but why would any other card (smaller than 128gb) works absolutely normal?

Re: Horribly slow write speeds on t420s micro sd 128gb
It is Sandisk Ultra 128GB Micro SDXC UHS-I
I think, it must be some windows system or driver problem, because when I stop the copy task (by clicking storno), it takes 20 seconds to close file transfer window - this hapens only with this card.
I tried usb card reader and it works fine. I will try linux and see, if it all works...

So, Linux did not even recognise neither 128GB Sandisk nor 64GB Sandisk. Only 4GB micro sd Kingston was recognised.
Maybe formating from exFAT to FAT32GB could help...
