Ok, I'm trying to understand this but I think you are trying to say how will the T400's battery life be when you swap the CPU for a X9100.

Well that depends on the current config. If you are running a 35W CPU already like a T9550 or something it shouldn't that significantly reduced but if you have a low clock 25W chip like a P8400, you will see a decent drop. Maybe 25% worse battery life.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
