buying t420 over t430 is an idiotic decision no matter who recommends you that

with some effort, the t430 can have 7-row keyboard just like the T420, but have the advantage of usb3/better chassis/better chipset.

it will accept 2133mhz memory (g.skill cl11) with factory bios

I recommend you visit the /r/thinkpad discord in my signature, there are much more people with the knowledge willing to help you (one in particular is very experienced with the T430).

That's not a quad-core, but a dual-core i7 with Hyper-Threading enabled, which exposes a "virtual core" for every physical CPU core. A quad-core i7 would show up as 8 cores in Device Manager.

Laptop Core i7 models with Q in the model number are quad-cores, like i7-3612QM.

Modified T470 to look like TP Anniversary Edition; TP 25; E550; T540p; wants a T420 or P1 to see what's good.
