T400 LCD display cable

My rarely used T400(the 8 battery heavy one) has probably display cable problems.Do all T400 have the same display cable ...or was it different for some...

I am currently using it by tilting the lcd by > 30 degrees down.

Not all of them did, especially with the ones that came with a LED display panel. Those T400 configurations that came with a LED display panel, were equipped with a different display cable specifically meant to drive the LED-powered display panel.

hello ignorant, welcome to the forum..
i suggest you take a look at the HMM's (see banner above) for part numbers and the like..
then see about a replacement..

Switching off the power settings ..and my tubelight based T400 is working But all the status display lights are now gone.the laptop works fine.
Can someone educate me on how this status lights work...
I am happy with rest of the laptop as it works without the status lights (at bottom of lcd ..10 symbols).
The lcd is wxga+ ..I get display cables here for (mumbai,india)for t400 but they donot know if they will work for wxga+.

Check the fuses (marked such as F3, F7, F16 etc.) for continuity, near the LCD-connector on the motherboard.
If gone, piggyback-solder a new one on top of the old one.

i am no mood to degrade the thinkpad from its currentworking state.
I presume is I am not going to burn rest of the lcd i will continue using it as it is....
I have 6 gb of Ram....
I will now try putting a ssd in the cd writer slot....
