Replacing T410 keyboard

#1 Post by jpthinkpadfan » Wed Nov 21, 2018 2:58 pm

Hey guys!
Hopefully someone can help me with this. I have a T410 keyboard where the '2' is not working. I've tried cleaning it, removed key and cleaned around the membrane to make sure there is no debris. Short of replacing it, which seems pretty straight forward, I'm not sure what else to do. Any recommendations would be helpful.
In addition, I've seen a T410i on eBay that is listed for parts. Does anyone know if the T410/T410i keyboards are interchangeable.
Thanks in advance!
Joe

The T410I keyboard should fit your T410 but is there any significant wear on that Ebay unit?

The T410 keyboard is interchangeable with the T510, W510, T420, W520, and X220. :D
The T410i is just a normal T410 but outfitted with a lower-cost CPU like the Core i3.

Yes this helps, also if you're in a hurry and no time for the repair you can always opt-in to use keyboard usb a small one just for temporary / emergency use.

I now have a T400 keyboard that does the same thing but on the C key.

In the meantime know you can toggle the ThinkPad's virtual Numpad with Fn+NmLk and then the K key will function as a 2.
