Panasonic and LGC have superior longevity to SANYO and Sony. All are better than name or no-name aftermarkets. You can check the FRU on the Parts Lookup https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup but depending on the seller you only get to know the FRU after having the battery in hand so in practice there's not much you can do with this tool.
T520 can take 55 or 70 series batteries. 70 series has a DRM chip for charging in the **30 series ThinkPads, which can be removed through a modded EC flash on those models. This is irrelevant on the T520. Best get whichever is cheaper at the time, typically the 55 is cheaper, but sometimes there are good deals on a used 70.
If you answer No to those questions, stick with the 6 cell and save your money.
Regardless of your answer, you should always carry the AC adapter.
